Copper Flames

There is Copper in the Flames

The days of summer spent and long

As the gift of lovers spins melodious song

Sprinting through forest simple bare feet

Furious hearts timed to wooden beat

Sun trickling through in soft green rays

World fading fast, a blur, a haze

Leaves and twigs tangled, knotted hair

The two run wild without a care

They are the song that leaps and bounds

World brimming full, still silent sounds

The pulse of a firefly whispers soft

While emerald moss climbing chants aloft

Barreling, rolling, tumbling they fall

For they’ve heard the voice, the One to call

Children of the wood, the sand, the earth

Living out lives of fiery mirth

They are the joys within dancing flame

Souls unspoiled never to tame

And hearts boldly fighting to preserver

Mortal futures unknown but faith so clear
